ACTIVITIES
YOURS TO EXPLORE
Manzanillo has so much to offer! Here are some of our favorite local activities.
Sport Fishing
Often referred to as “The Sailfish Capital of the World,” Manzanillo, Mexico is an ideal location for sport fishing. Marlin and sailfish alike flood the waters of Manzanillo and Santiago Bays and if you love the thrill of the catch, fishing here provides a higher-than-usual reward.
Visit Comala
Walk around the historic streets of Comala, grab a bite to eat, and do a little shopping while enjoying the river rock streets and all of the beautiful white buildings.
Visit Colima
Walk around and enjoy some of the best shopping in the state! If you take a short drive to an area called Zona Magica you will find a strange phenomenon where cars and water appear to defy gravity, seeming to roll upwards rather than downwards. Check it out for yourself!
Go Off-Roading
If you are looking for an adventure, go exploring on an ATV! You can find tours that include mountain or sand riding.
Relax on the Beach
You have miles of beaches to choose from! You will find some of the prettiest beaches closest to the Santiago Peninsula.
Iguana Sanctuary
Animal lover? Check out the iguana sanctuary that is in downtown Manzanillo, close to the central plaza. Entry is by donation, and feel free to bring your own fruit to feed to the iguanas and other animals!
Go Snorkeling
With many locations to choose from, Manzanillo is a great place to snorkel. Go on your own right from the beach to find close reefs or take a tour to find shipwrecks and some of the most beautiful reefs in the world.
Explore nearby towns
There are several nearby towns and cities where you can shop, eat, and explore! Melaque is a very friendly small beach town, then venture a few minutes away to Barra de Navidad where you can find tons of shops and a big flea market twice a week. Don’t forget to check out the Miramar Flea Markets along the beach.
